The Perfect Pitch

February 8, 2018noelia
perfect pitch
ˌpəːfɪkt ˈpɪtʃ/
noun
– the ability to recognize the pitch of a note or produce any given note; a sense of absolute pitch.
Google “perfect pitch” and the above description appears. And even though it’s referring to musical instruments I think the same goes when pitching for an agency within marketing and e-commerce. Currently I am in the process of a Swedish agency pitch for one of my international clients. Finding the perfect pitch is probably even more difficult on remote, so just like a musical piece can be played in many ways it’s base come from the notes. Comparing that into the agency pitch the briefing documentation and process is key to succeed.
I usually put a lot of effort into the brief itself as I think that benefits the overall process in the end, avoiding any misunderstandings. So my main tip is to give as much information as possible. Think that you are need to sell in yourself as much as the agency as you need a mutual understanding in communication, sales and other goals. Below I have shared with you an example of the content I put into a brief. Best of luck finding your perfect pitch!
Example on Table of Contents for an agency briefing:
GENERAL INFORMATION
CURRENT SITUATION
Examples Activities & Assets
Market Position
NEW CUSTOMER ACQUISITION
PURPOSE & KPIs
STAKEHOLDERS
TIMING & BUDGET FOR REALIZATION
AGENCY TASK
TIMING & BUDGET FOR PITCH
